Our Foundation

Donate Your Meds (DYM) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in healthcare access for underserved and low-income individuals. Founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in July 2014 by Dr. Jennifer C. Iwegbue, a Clinical Pharmacist with over a decade of experience, DYM embodies a mission born from both expertise and heartfelt empathy.

At DYM, we believe that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Our work focuses on providing free medicines, copay assistance, and medical supplies to those who need them most. We also deliver preventive health services—including blood sugar and blood pressure screenings—to empower individuals and improve health outcomes. Whether serving low-income neighborhoods, disaster-stricken regions, or developing countries, we are unwavering in our commitment to creating healthier lives and stronger communities.

Dr. Iwegbue’s passion for healthcare equity is deeply personal. Growing up as a member of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria, she witnessed the devastating impact of poverty and limited medical access. These experiences shaped her resolve to make a difference, inspiring the mantra that drives DYM: changing lives, one pill at a time.

Since its founding, DYM has stepped up to support communities around the globe, including those recovering from natural disasters and grappling with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have a special focus on aiding developing countries, particularly Nigeria, where the need for accessible healthcare remains urgent.

Our vision is bold yet simple: a world where everyone—regardless of income—has access to essential medicines and healthcare services. By joining our mission, you’re not just donating supplies or funds; you’re fueling hope, saving lives, and building resilient communities.

Together, we can transform healthcare access and create a healthier, more equitable future.
